Position Summary:  

We are looking for a Senior Programme Manager to innovate, win and grow with us!    

Bottomline is seeking a motivated and driven Programme Manager who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced product environment. This role will lead and deliver complex programmes and projects across Product, Technology and other functions within Bottomline as well as directly with Customers and Partners. 

 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of complex cross-functional programmes and projects, including but not limited to customer deployments, migrations, product end of life, and revenue growth initiatives.  
  • Define programme/project scope, success metrics, deliverables, timelines, and governance frameworks.  
  • Maintain strong delivery momentum through proactive risk, issue, and dependency management, ensuring clear and actionable mitigation plans.  
  • Drive operational excellence by continuously improving processes, tools, and reporting practices. 
  • Implement effective governance structures (e.g., steering committees, working groups, roadmap reviews, checkpoints) that maintain alignment and accountability. 
  • Establish clear cross-functional communication models and operating rhythms, ensuring clarity of responsibilities, decisions, and expected outcomes.  
  • Monitor and report on programme and project performance, creating clear insights and assets that support decision making, transparency, and timely escalation. 
  • Lead and facilitate project & programme retrospectives to identify learnings and embed continuous improvement. 
  • Support Product teams with key programme/project administration when required.  
  • Organise and facilitate stakeholder and product-initiative meetings.  
  • Lead change-management activities to drive successful adoption of new processes, technologies, and product capabilities. 

 

Required skills: 

  • Strong ability to lead and collaborate across cross-functional teams, driving delivery and ensuring accountability. 
  • Ability to build strong relationships, negotiate priorities, and influence decisions across teams & leadership levels. 
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programmes/projects in a fast paced environment, adjusting priorities in line with business needs. 
  • Solid understanding of project and programme management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, hybrid models). 
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with attention to detail and the ability to create clear documentation, reporting, and communication assets. 
  • Good understanding of the product development lifecycle, including agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban). 
  • Ability to interpret data, draw insights, and communicate findings to diverse audiences. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills tailored to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Proven experience communicating and presenting confidently to senior leadership and executive stakeholders. 
  • Proficiency with industry standard tools and systems (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Office/365). 

 

Education and Experience:  

  • Proven success operating across all levels and functions within an organisation 
  • Demonstrated success delivering outcomes in a matrixed, fast paced environment  
  • Background in SaaS, cloud based products would be advantageous.  
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 7+ years of hands-on programme or project management experience  
  • Recognised certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, MSP)
