Position Summary 

We’re seeking a full-time Senior Social Culture Comms Specialist (official title: Senior Social Media Specialist I) for our Los Angeles-based corporate office. This person is chronically online, culturally fluent, and insight-driven. They live on the internet, know what's trending, and they understand how fast culture, fashion, and social media move in real time. They will help SHEIN show up online in ways that are fun and relevant by thinking like a consumer to ultimately drive engagement growth.

 

Job Responsibilities 

Culture, Trends & Insights/Research

  • Deep knowledge of memes, social trends, pop culture, fashion moments, viral topics, and internet language
  • Identify cultural moments early and flag opportunities for SHEIN to participate quickly and authentically
  • Use social listening tools to uncover consumer behavior, sentiment, and emerging conversations to help inform owned content
  • Track content performance against KPIs and turn data into clear, actionable takeaways (what worked, what didn’t, and why)
  • Keep up with platform updates, algorithm shifts, and new features
  • Identify moments to post outside of planned campaigns
  • Assist with content creation & content calendar management 

Social Involvement

  • Actively monitor on and off-brand channels
  • Strong written communication with a sharp grasp of brand and internet tone + humor
  • Foster relationships with creators, influencers, and brand partners
  • Know when to jump into a conversation and when not to
  • Identify reactive opportunities that can be amplified beyond social 

Mindset & Collaboration

  • Bring proactive ideas
  • Think beyond aesthetics: understand WHY content/trend works, not just what looks good
  • Provide input and support to the broader social, PR, influencer, and marketing team with ideation, strategy, and research

Job Requirements 

  • 4+ years of experience in social media marketing, preferably with a consumer brand.
  • Passion and subject matter expertise for Fashion, as well as pop culture, including music, tv/film, sports, and entertainment.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools for analytics, scheduling & social listening (e.g. Sprinklr, Dash Social, native social platforms).
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytics skills with experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership.
  • Excellent oral and written skills with strong attention to detail, grammar, brand tone, and voice.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms and the type of language across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, and Discord.
  • Experience overseeing social media strategy and execution across multiple channels.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing teams and with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Must have a curious, proactive mindset with a passion for continuously testing, learning, and pushing boundaries.
  • Ability to take the lead and manage a team.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality social media campaigns in very dynamic environments.
  • Content creation experience and editing skills are a plus.
  • Travel is expected for this role.

Pay Range
$82,300—$92,000 USD
