At GetYourGuide, the Engineering team constantly pushes the boundaries and finds new ways to bring the magic of travel to people worldwide.

We’re organized in cross-functional mission teams, which are composed of software engineers, mobile engineers and data engineers, along with product managers and designers.

You will: 

• Work as a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend focus) in a product team. We are a highly collaborative, customer-oriented team where every engineer is expected to contribute to solving real user problems and shaping the product experience.
• The role is an 80/20 full-stack position, working primarily with TypeScript and Node.js on the Backend. It requires strong experience across both frontend and backend development. A key part of the role involves owning our Server-Driven UI backend-for-frontend (BFF) layer — designing and implementing backend components that deliver dynamic UI configurations tailored to specific frontend needs and ultimately enhance the end-user experience.
• You'll be working closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders, so strong stakeholder management skills are essential. We value engineers who are not only technically strong but also comfortable driving conversations, aligning with business needs, and advocating for the customer at every step.
• To support your mission team in quickly iterating and gaining insights into our customers, you will focus on designing, launching, and iterating on A/B experiments while continuously improving our codebase, systems, and processes. 
• You will aim to design and develop efficient solutions that can scale effectively, and prioritize mentoring other team members and participating in the hiring process.
• Work involves technologies such as Vue.js, TypeScript, and Node.js, along with exposure to Java and Spring Boot.

Who you are: 

• 6+ years of software development experience
• Expertise in web application development using component-based frameworks
• High proficiency in TypeScript
• Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications & services
• Experience with writing tests
• Ability to turn ideas into fast, reliable, and maintainable code
• Positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft
• Customer-centric prioritization and data-driven decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  
  

Bonus points for:

• Backend experience with Java and Springboot
• Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building, and event-based analytics
• Knowledge of frameworks and toolchains such as Node.js, Vue.j,s or similar component-based Frontend application frameworks
• Prior experience working in the e-commerce space
• Prior experience in start-up environments
