Software Developer | IT Asset Management

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to design and develop custom applications and enhance off-the-shelf solutions supporting BTG Pactual’s hedge fund business. In this role, you will work closely with the front office on workflow automation initiatives related to research, portfolio management, operations, and trading.

Although the position is based in Brazil, you will collaborate daily with international offices and global stakeholders, contributing to projects with worldwide impact. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise and a genuine interest in learning the financial products and business model of a global investment firm.

Key Responsabilities

• Partner with business teams in Brazil and international offices to design, build, and deploy custom applications and improve off-the-shelf systems
• Deliver technical solutions through software development to automate processes and enhance business operations across global teams
• Develop and maintain operational and support procedures for applications
• Design and implement scripts to automate operational tasks and system maintenance
• Administer and enforce IT development standards and global best practices
• Provide support during scheduled contingency tests, upgrades, and releases
• Assist with installing patches and updates, assessing their impact on applications
• Work directly with end users and support teams, both locally and internationally, to resolve issues

Essential Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience with C# development
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Strong experience with SQL database development
• Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns
• Experience with unit and integration testing
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular 2+, TypeScript, and jQuery
• Experience with persistent and real-time messaging systems
• Proven experience working with global teams, delivering systems aligned with firm-wide and international standards
• Proficiency in using AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
• Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international stakeholders
• Team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
• Strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot applications supporting complex business processes
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced, global environment
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities and adapt to changing deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work independently while contributing to an international team
• Strong ownership mentality and pride in delivering high-quality work
• Genuine interest in the financial markets and investment management industry
• High level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
• Availability to work in a hybrid model (3–4 days per week in the office)
