Your Impact

You will be part of the Global Manufacturing Operations organization. You will be an individual contributor within the Operations Business Accelerators team focused on Business Process Automation and AI-enabled knowledge work. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain automation and AI solutions that deliver measurable performance improvements across Operations. You will collaborate with business users and IT partners to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable automations using the Microsoft Power Platform, Azure services, AI platforms (ex. Cortex, Cursor AI), and related technologies.

This role will work closely with automation peers, data engineers, and business stakeholders in Manufacturing Operations, Quality, and Global Supply Chain, as well as the Enterprise IT Architecture team. You will be the hands-on technical expert for integrating systems, orchestrating workflows, and augmenting knowledge work with AI assistants. You will ensure that automation and AI assets follow best-practice governance set by the OBA Leadership Team. This position has a global focus and reports to the Senior Director, Operations Business Accelerators.

What You'll Do

  • Work with senior Ops leadership to shape the vision and strategic plans for AI to align with Axon technologies and enterprise initiatives and goals.
  • Partner with process owners to map current processes, identify pain points, and define automation requirements that align with Operations strategic goals.
  • Lead structured process discovery and opportunity assessments to identify high-impact use cases for automation and AI (ex. intelligent assistants, document automation, and knowledge retrieval).
  • Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate (cloud and desktop), Power Apps, and, when appropriate, n8n or other orchestration tools.
  • Design and implement AI-augmented workflows that streamline knowledge work, such as code assistants (e.g., Cursor AI), AI copilots for Operations teams, and integrations with LLM-based services to summarize, classify, and route information.
  • Develop Azure components, including Logic Apps, Functions, App Services, and Data Factory pipelines, and work with the infrastructure team to provision and manage the required resources.
  • Manage MCP server implementation and configuration to ensure secure, consistent, and scalable interaction between AI models and enterprise systems.
  • Follow secure development and data-governance practices to protect Operations data and adhere to corporate policies, with a specific focus on responsible AI usage and data boundaries.
  • Produce clear technical documentation, test plans, and user training materials; provide hyper-care support after launch and drive adoption of new AI/automation tools.
  • Act as an internal champion for AI in Operations, evangelizing best practices, running pilots, capturing feedback from users, and evolving standards for AI-enabled workflows.
  • Track and communicate value delivered through key performance indicators (KPIs) and benefit realization metrics in partnership with the OBA Leadership Team, including both automation and AI outcomes (ex. hours saved, cycle time reduction, improved decision quality).
  • Mentor junior developers and citizen developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence within Global Operations, including enabling them to safely and effectively use AI tools in their daily work.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Finance, Engineering, Information Systems, or related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing scaled business process automation solutions.
  • Experience supporting Operations functions (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality) and familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft D365 F&O or SAP.
  • Experience building or integrating AI-powered solutions (ex. LLM-based services, chatbots, document intelligence, or code assistants like Cursor AI) into business workflows.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehouses (ex. Snowflake) and ability to write advanced SQL queries.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business processes into technical requirements, manage stakeholders, and deliver projects using agile methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills; able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, global environment and explain AI/automation concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing solutions in Microsoft Azure including Logic Apps, Functions, storage (Blob), and SQL/Data Factory, and familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub for source control and CI/CD.
