About this role

About Pinterest:

Millions of people around the world come to our platform to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. At Pinterest, we’re on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.

Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other’s unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It’s Possible.

At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.

Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here.

Pinterest is harnessing AI to increase speed, efficiency, and effectiveness across our Marketing, Communications, and Creative (MC2) team. As Senior Technical Program Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving exploration, adoption, and outcomes for MC2 AI initiatives. In this role, you will partner across leaders and teams to translate strategy into action and drive measurable results. If you excel at bringing clarity to complexity, thrive in cross-functional environments, and are passionate about AI, this is your opportunity to lead high-impact programs at scale.

What you’ll do:

  • Set MC2’s AI direction—and deliver it. Define and execute the AI roadmap for MC2, prioritizing the highest-impact use cases and aligning the right partners to drive real outcomes.
  • Turn ambiguity into starting points teams can build from. Own end-to-end discovery and requirements—gather input from stakeholders, translate it into crisp business, functional, and technical needs, and produce strong BRDs, process maps, and specs that guide delivery and integration.
  • Make cross-functional execution feel simple and steady. Create the operating rhythm that keeps work moving. Delineate clear owners, timelines, decision points, and updates while proactively tracking dependencies, surfacing tradeoffs, and removing blockers before they slow the team down.
  • Drive learning and adoption, globally. Develop and maintain the playbooks, documentation, learning cohorts, and training resources that help teams confidently use new AI tools and workflows. Support change management and upskilling across regions and roles.
  • Grow an AI-forward culture with strong guardrails. Foster curiosity and momentum around AI while championing responsible, ethical, and compliant practices. Monitor risks and impacts closely, escalate when needed, and drive issues to resolution with speed and care.
  • Own vendor and tool success from day one. Lead onboarding, integration, and ongoing management of AI vendors and tools, coordinating legal and security reviews so teams can move fast with confidence.
  • Ground the work in measurable business impact. Define what success looks like for AI engagement and make progress visible through clear reporting and storytelling that earns trust and keeps leaders invested.

What we’re looking for:

  • 6+ years of technical program management experience driving complex, cross-functional technical initiatives end to end.
  • Hands-on experience delivering AI/automation programs from pilot to scaled adoption with measurable results.
  • Strong requirements chops (BRDs, process mapping, user journeys, functional/technical specs), crisp writing, and a track record of delivering work others can execute against.
  • Comfort partnering deeply with technical teams and translating between technical constraints and business needs.
  • Experience building adoption programs that shift behavior across distributed, global teams.
  • Strong vendor and tool management background: evaluating solutions, running onboarding/integration, and coordinating legal/security/data reviews; able to hold vendors accountable to outcomes, timelines, and quality.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-starter and problem-solver; passionate about operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
