DoorDash USA · New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; Los Angeles, CA
In this role, you will join a global New Verticals team at Doordash. In New Verticals (NV), we’re building 0→1 products that go far beyond restaurants — from groceries to retail and beyond — and impact the lives of people across the globe. This is a key part of DoorDash’s broader transformation: evolving from a place to order your next meal to the platform that powers all of your everyday needs.
New Verticals is a rapidly growing part of the business and central to DoorDash’s evolution — a meaningful opportunity to help shape the company’s future.
Our team is tackling challenges around anticipating customer needs, preferences, and routines so we can deliver groceries — and anything else they want — exactly as they would choose themselves.
You will join the New Verticals Fulfillment team, focused on shaping the end-to-end Dasher/Shopper experience. We’re building a foundational, AI-first product that adapts in real time — equipping Dashers with intelligent tools to make confident, high-quality decisions on behalf of customers. The work sits at the intersection of efficiency, quality, and earnings, and requires thoughtful tradeoffs to deliver strong outcomes across the system.
You’ll design for a three-sided marketplace, navigating complex interactions between customers, Dashers, and merchants. This role requires strong systems thinking, a high bar for craft, and the ability to lead through ambiguity — turning loosely defined problems into shipped, measurable outcomes.
More broadly, you’ll play a key role in DoorDash’s ongoing business and brand transformation, helping reinforce that we can serve all of a customer’s everyday needs while building trust in every interaction.
As a Designer on New Verticals, you’ll move quickly from concept to live product, using production as your prototyping environment and learning from real behavior — not just research artifacts. You’ll care deeply about whether what you build actually improves decisions in the moment, reduces friction across workflows, and raises the quality of outcomes for customers and Dashers alike.
You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product Management, User Research, Analytics, and Strategy & Operations — using data to inform decisions and LLM-powered tools alongside traditional design tools. And when the right tools don’t exist, you’ll help define and build them.
