Summer Intern, Accounting

Summary:

Vaxcyte’s Summer Internship program offers students with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience that complements their college curriculum with relevant hands-on work that can shape their future career pathing and interests. 

As an Accounting Intern for Vaxcyte, you will work on a project as outlined below:

• Provide support for financial analysis and accounting activities, including variance analysis, manufacturing accounting, SOX compliance, and preparation of financial statements.
• Conduct research and benchmarking on finance and accounting tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced reporting.
• Assist with maintaining and updating financial documentation, including process flows, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training materials, and internal controls documentation.
• Leverage AI an advanced Excel tools to improve data analysis, reporting efficiency, and accuracy while adhering to company policies and controls.

The Intern will learn and practice:

• Core accounting and finance processes in a regulated environment to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Apply AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency and decision-making.
• Effective communication of financial insights to stakeholders across the organization.

Program Details:

The Internship will begin in June and will be around 10 weeks (8 hours per day) in duration at our San Carlos, California location.

Requirements: 

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree (enrolled student with at least 1 year at university completed) with a focus on Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and work quality.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork.
