Outline of the Job
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thermal and Environmental Control System (ECS) Engineer to support the development of next-generation eVTOL aircraft. This role focuses on ensuring robust thermal management and environmental control performance across system and component levels.
You will play a key role in defining, analyzing, and validating thermal architectures, contributing to certification readiness and safe operation under diverse environmental conditions.
- Develop and design thermal management and Environmental Control System (ECS) architectures for eVTOL platforms
- Perform 1D and 3D thermal simulations, including detailed CFD analysis (preferably using Star-CCM+)
- Model and analyze heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and cooling strategies for avionics, batteries, and power electronics
- Ensure alignment of thermal design with system-level requirements (performance, safety, durability, and reliability)
- Correlate simulation results with test data, and refine models accordingly
- Support and execute qualification and environmental testing (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (structures, avionics, safety, certification)
- Contribute to requirements definition, verification, and validation activities
- Support development of certification documentation and compliance reports

Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in thermal engineering or related fields
- Strong knowledge of: Heat transfer, Fluid dynamics, Thermal management systems
- Proven experience in thermal CFD analysis (Star-CCM+ preferred)
- Experience with 1D and 3D simulation tools
- Demonstrated ability to correlate simulation results with experimental/test data
- Understanding of how system-level requirements impact modeling and design decisions
- Experience with environmental and qualification testing standards (DO-160)
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with aerospace standards such as: SAE ARP4754 and SAE ARP4761
- Experience in ECS design for aerospace applications
- Knowledge of battery thermal management and high-voltage systems
- Experience supporting certification activities, including preparation of compliance documentation and verification reports

Working Hours
- Flextime or Discretionary labor system
