Job Description
AFS is looking for a skilled UI/UX Engineer/Designer to join our team. This role involves designing and implementing user interfaces for our web applications, focusing on creating intuitive, accessible, and consistent user experiences. The ideal candidate will conduct user research, develop wireframes and prototypes, and collaborate with developers to ensure the final product meets user needs and accessibility standards. Responsibilities include creating user personas and journey maps, designing information architecture and navigation flows, and developing interactive prototypes to validate design concepts. This individual will also establish and maintain design systems and component libraries, implement responsive designs for various devices, and ensure compliance with accessibility standards. Usability testing will be conducted to identify improvement opportunities, and collaboration with product owners will align designs with business requirements while staying updated on UI/UX trends and best practices. Additionally, the candidate will support government enterprise system architecture activities to define and scope our clients' toughest challenges. This includes maintaining and improving system architecture artifacts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, and integrating effectively across the enterprise. The role also involves developing and documenting the enterprise architecture framework, creating architecture models to communicate complex system relationships, and evaluating technology options for alignment with architectural standards. The candidate will assess the impact of proposed changes, identify opportunities for reuse and standardization, and facilitate architecture review boards to ensure governance. Collaboration with security architects will be essential to ensure compliance with security requirements, while also maintaining architecture repositories and documentation, and providing architectural guidance to development teams.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
