Are you passionate about turning data into strategy and strategy into measurable results? We are seeking an Utility Business Optimization Manager to help drive financial strength, operational excellence, and smarter decision-making across all utility revenue streams. This role provides high-level financial and operational analysis that supports executive decision-making and safeguards long-term sustainability for our customers and ratepayers.

In this role, you’ll lead cross-functional initiatives that improve processes, enhance performance, and maximize return on investment—ensuring our utility continues delivering reliable, cost-effective service to our community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business or a related business process field
  • Five (5) years of increasing responsible experience in utility financial analysis, performance management, auditing, or operations analysis
  • Two (2) years of administrative and supervisory responsibility
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and interpreting financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics
  • Experience analyzing complex financial and operational data and presenting findings to senior leadership

The Utility Business Optimization Manager's job responsibilities include:

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of billing and collections through proactive monitoring and auditing of revenue streams.
  • Identify revenue risks, system gaps, and process inefficiencies, and partner with divisions to implement corrective solutions.
  • Provide independent verification of revenue performance to maintain financial integrity and accountability.
  • Validate inputs to the utility’s rate model and provide analysis on the financial and customer impacts of rate adjustments.
  • Ensure long-term revenue forecasts reflect realistic operational trends and infrastructure needs.
  • Advise executive leadership on capital investment strategies that balance efficiency, reliability, and affordability.
  • Develop and track meaningful performance metrics that measure financial health and operational effectiveness.
  • Create executive dashboards and reports that translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Lead or support cross-divisional initiatives focused on business process improvement and operational optimization.
  • Evaluate projects and initiatives based on return on investment, service impact, and long-term value to the community Top of Form.
