About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead and oversee welding activities across our fabrication and repair operations. This role is responsible for ensuring all welding work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant Australian Standards and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day welding activities across workshop and/or site
  • Ensure compliance with AS/NZS 1554 and applicable procedures
  • Review and implement Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and qualifications (PQRs)
  • Conduct quality inspections and coordinate NDT requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to welders and trades personnel
  • Coordinate workflow to meet production and project deadlines
  • Maintain safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
  • Liaise with engineering, QA, and operations teams


About You

  • Trade qualification in Boilermaking / Fabrication
  • Proven experience in a Welding Supervisor or Leading Hand role
  • Strong understanding of Australian welding standards and QA requirements
  • Supervisor qualifications (e.g. Cert IV in Engineering or equivalent) highly regarded
  • Experience in mining, heavy fabrication, or OEM environments preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding procedures
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Desirable

  • Welding Supervisor certification (e.g. WTIA / IIW)
  • Experience with hardfacing, wear packages, or heavy mobile equipment
  • Familiarity with robotic welding or automated processes (advantageous)
